Brandon Louie

Brandon Louie is an adjunct faculty member in the sociology department at Sacramento City College and has taught Sociology 375: Introduction to Community Development since 2018. He also works at the UC Davis Center for Regional Change as the center's Community Engagement Coordinator. His work at UC Davis supports youth participatory action research (YPAR) and intergenerational teams' use of publicly-available data and mapping tools.

Brandon has fourteen years of combined expertise in youth development, participatory action research, community organizing, and international agricultural development. His research and work in California and Central America have focused on a number of different issues, including food sovereignty, farmworker justice, indigenous rights, affordable housing, educational equity, health and healing.

Brandon serves on the SETA-Sacramento Works Youth Committee and the 4-H Access, Equity and Belonging Committee, and he holds a Master of Science in community development from UC Davis and a Bachelor of Arts in history with a minor in theater and performance studies from UC Berkeley.
