Roberto has over fifteen years of experience in nonprofit leadership, organizational development and management. A dozen of those years are in housing development and property management. This included the development and launch of a third-party property management company, Evolve Property Management & Workforce Development. Roberto has led multiple successful housing policy efforts at the state and national level including leading successful federal legislation efforts.
He brings to Evolve a deep understanding of the needs of a community development corporation and a passion for addressing the needs of residents in the multifamily housing that he develops and oversees. In 2011 he co-authored Discrimination Related Stress, Blood Pressure and Epstein-Barr Virus Antibodies among Latin American Immigrants in Oregon, US, published in the Journal of Biosocial Science, Cambridge University Press, linking discrimination to negative health impacts.
The son of a former farmworkers his ancestors settled in what is now New Mexico in 1550 and his family moved to Oregon in 1950. Roberto has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon in Comparative Literature and is currently enrolled in NeighborWorks® Achieving Excellence in Community Development, at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard Kennedy School.
