Camille is currently working to complete her Doctorate in Health Education while teaching Community Health Worker Certification courses at Sacramento City Community College, where she is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and completed her Masters in Public Health from A.T. Still University, College of Graduate Health Studies in 2012.

She also serves as a Deputy Director for the Public Health Institute Tracing Health Program that directly responds to the COVID -19 epidemic is California. Prior to her current position she was at the PHI Center for Wellness and Nutrition since January 2019 as a Program Manager. She uses her years of program administration, community engagement, and health education expertise to provide technical assistance to programs funded by the CDC to address chronic disease prevalence from a racial and ethnic approach to community health (REACH). Camille also manages a pilot project focusing on African-American and Latina faith-based populations funded through the California Department of Social Services. Her values, ethics, and perspective on how to approach individuals and groups in an effort to heal communities holistically aligns perfectly with PHI-CWN:

– Meet people where they are! – Engage them and their interests! – Listen well and learn much from those you seek to serve!

Accomplishing a good early morning workout, being a devoted youth ministry leader, and having a lively presence at her family’s extracurricular activities, allow for little down time which Camille considers a lovely complement to her passionate work in public health.
